Explora Journeys
Travel Agent in Seattle
Amy Kilbreath, Port and Passport
I sail Explora Journeys. I book it for my clients. And I’ll tell you when I think you should choose something else.
I’m Amy Kilbreath, founder of Port and Passport and a certified Explora Journeys specialist based in the Seattle area, working with travelers nationwide. I help you choose and book your Explora sailing, from the itinerary and suite location to the travel arrangements around it.
Explora Journeys is one of the cruise lines I book most. I’ve sailed repeatedly aboard EXPLORA I and EXPLORA II and toured EXPLORA III. My own trips have included southern Italy, the southern Caribbean and the Pacific Coast. When we talk about whether this is your kind of vacation, I’m drawing on time aboard, not just a list of amenities.

See Explora Journeys through my eyes
In my public Explora Journeys Facebook group, I share photos and videos from my own sailings, personal reviews, and the details I notice as a travel agent. Come take a look, ask questions, and get a better feel for whether Explora is your kind of trip.
Why work with me for your Explora booking?
You may already know you want Explora. You may even have a sailing and suite picked out. That’s fine. You don’t have to hand over every decision to benefit from another experienced set of eyes.
Here’s where I get involved:
The itinerary beyond the port names
Two sailings can visit places you love and give you very different vacations. I look at the time you actually have ashore, the balance of sea days, and the flights and hotel nights needed to make the trip work. Tell me if you want long lunches in port or afternoons with nowhere to be. That changes what I recommend.
The suite you’ll actually enjoy
A higher category isn’t automatically the right answer. We’ll look at how you use your suite and terrace, where it sits on the ship, and what’s above and around it. I want you spending more because the difference matters to you, not because the category name sounds better.
The full booking picture
I’ll walk you through the fare, inclusions, additional expenses and cancellation terms. As an Explora Journeys certified travel agent, I keep track of promotions that could add significant value to your trip. Through my agency’s consortium, booking with me may also include additional shipboard credit, complimentary excursions or other perks on eligible sailings. I’ll check what applies to your sailing and explain the benefits before you book.
Someone to contact after the deposit
When you book through Port and Passport, I remain involved with your reservation and pre-trip planning. Questions, changes and problems don’t stop being my concern once you’ve paid. I help coordinate with the cruise line rather than leaving you to work out whom to call.
Is Explora the right choice for you?
Many of my clients are Gen X travelers and empty nesters who have traveled plenty and know what they like. I also help couples, solo travelers and multigenerational families, whose priorities can be very different even on the same sailing.
Tell me what you loved about your last trip. Then tell me what drove you nuts. How much activity do you want? What does a good evening look like? Where are you willing to spend more, and where would it feel wasted?
I book other luxury cruise lines, too. If your answers point somewhere else, I’ll explain why. Being an Explora specialist should help you make a better decision, not make the decision for you.
Considering Explora Journeys for Alaska?
Alaska is another substantial part of my work: I’ve booked more than 200 Alaska cruises. For an Explora Alaska trip, I bring that itinerary-planning experience together with my firsthand knowledge of the line. 2027 is Explora Journeys’ first season in Alaska, aboard EXPLORA III. Let’s make sure you’re matched with the right sailing for the Alaska experience you want.
Before recommending a sailing, I want to know what you’re going to Alaska to experience. Glaciers? Wildlife? Time exploring ashore? The ship is one decision. Whether its particular itinerary delivers the Alaska trip you have in mind is another.
You can start with Alaska Cruise Match, my cruise-matching website, or talk with me directly if you’re already comparing options.
